An Update on Our Social Media Channels and Content

Thank you to everyone and anyone who has read this Outlander-focused website since its beginning in June 2013.

With recent changes in the social media climate, we have changed our Twitter/X account to protected status.  The removal of the block feature and the flooding of the site of trolls and bots don’t make it a great place for Outlander fans.  I know many Twitter accounts are still posting and worth following if you are still actively using it.  Starz stopped using the platform some time ago, and not many cast members and crew use it anymore.  We may delete our account soon, but we will update you if that happens.  Twitter was the social media site for Outlander way back then, and we miss how it used to be.

We still have a Facebook Page!  I enjoy the comments and discussion that happens on Facebook and we will continue to post there.  (https://www.facebook.com/OutlanderTvNews)

Outlander TV News is now on Threads, and we will be posting links to new coverage there and joining the Outlander chatter.  Our account is @OutlanderTVNews.  That is the exact same account for Instagram, but we do not really use it.

We also just joined Bluesky, and our account is @outlandertvnews.bsky.social.  We have literally nothing posted there right now other than starting our account.

You may have noticed that there have not been many posts leading up to season 7B of Outlander starting next week.  To put it bluntly, I (Sarah) am burned out on covering Outlander.  While I love the show and the books, I don’t have a lot of drive to clamor and write posts about every new thing anymore.  After over ten years, the spark has gone out.  Maybe it will be re-lit when the show starts again next week, but that remains to be seen.  I do not have help writing on the site much anymore except for the brilliant Katherine Stinson, our Show-only Sassenach.  The extended, ridiculous breaks between new episodes does not help keep the excitement alive, either.

Right now, I hope to get back into the swing of things and back into a groove of writing and reviewing.  What I can say is that at this point is that we will not be covering the prequel Blood of My Blood.  It goes too far from Diana Gabaldon’s books, other than the story of Jamie’s parents, and I’m not interested in other writers making up stories in the Outlander-verse.  I know Diana wrote at least one episode, and I’ll probably give the show a chance, but you won’t find coverage on this site.  This, of course, could change.

However, please reach out if you, the Outlander fan reading this, would like to dip your toe in writing for this website, especially news posts.  I’m a great editor.  Drop me an email at outlandertvnews [at] gmail [dot] com.
